The rose
Light and dark
The beauty of selective light and rich dark depths is what makes black and white images go from being ordinary to extraordinary. Dark skies become foreboding with the light of the clouds offering hope. A long lovely walk in Sibley Park with a friend offered these captured moments.
East Bay Open Studios
Come see art!
Pro Arts East Bay Open Studios is going on. I will be showing and selling my fine art photography, so come on down to the Berkeley City College located in downtown Berkeley.
There will be over thirty participating artists from the Digital Arts Club.
Here is me at my booth, cowgirl hat and all!

Professional Association
I recently became a member of the professional association By Recommendation Only.
I met with owner Johanna Kaestner about a month ago when she came to my studio for an interview and to peruse my albums. We had a lovely talk and I thoroughly enjoyed our time together.
She is passionate about weddings and the artist's vision behind their craft. Their website also has a Green Corner component, that offers brides ideas for creating a green wedding.

New photography gallery
The Cunningham Partridge Gallery and Framing
A new gallery opened in my neighborhood. For those of you who love the work of Imogen Cunningham this is the place to visit.
The owner, Loren Partridge, is the eldest grandchild of Imogen Cunningham and has a wealth of personal stories about her grandmother to share. Her gallery sells the images you have come to know and love as well as some unpublished works.

Inspiration ~ Anne Leibovitz's exhibit
Inspiration comes in many forms,
a beautiful sunset, a friends laughter, a portrait of a person that touches you and seeing an artist's exhibit their work. It is so wonderful when we get to see an artists life and their art celebrated.

The exhibit Annie Leibovitz: A Photographer’s Life, 1990–2005 at the Legion of Honor Museum is a wonderful tribute to one of today's very talented photographers. The show is amazing and of course the Legion of Honor in itself is a site to be seen.
After seeing this show I was reminded of some photos that I took while at Syracuse University. The images below were from a studio lighting class my senior year. The first one is of Susan and the second image is of Ella and her dog.
